Off-Road Vehicles Now Required To Be Registered as
of April 1, 2005
Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson recently signed into effect
amendments to the County Code that require the registration of Off-Road
Vehicles.
The amendments to the Prince George's County Code, Subtitle 26, Vehicles and
Traffic, Division 19, which took effect on April 1, 2005, require the following
vehicles to be licensed and registered:
- All-Terrain Vehicles;
- Off-Road Vehicles;
- Miniature Scooters;
- Miniature Motorcycles (pocket bikes); and
- Off-Road Motorcycles (dirt bikes).

Architectural Control Guidelines approved on December 6, 2007
At the community meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2007, all
neighborhood residents were given a second opportunity to comment and voice concerns
about the drafted
"Architectural Control and Use Restrictions" document and the "Policy
Resolutions" document. All comments and concerns were addressed, some resulting
in modifications to the document.
This "Architectural Control and Use Restrictions" and the "Policy Resolutions" documents were "adopted with changes" by a majority vote of
the Winterset Board of Directors on December 6, 2007. And therefore, took
effect on that date.
The "Architectural Control and Use Restrictions" and "Policy
Resolutions" documents were subsequently
updated to incorporate any minor changes that were discussed at the meeting. The
updated documents were filed with the Prince George's County Department of Land
Records on Tuesday, December 18, 2007. A final version of the
documents was mailed to each Winterset homeowner. The "Architectural Control and Use Restrictions" and "Policy
Resolutions" documents, along with the new "Architectural Control Application"
and the "Complaint Letter",
are available via this website.
The newly adopted documents will
augment the previous Architectural Control
Guidelines dated December 1996. In some cases the new document will supersede
the previous document.
